Itongadol.-Efrat Lachter spent the last few days on the battlefields near Mosul, Iraq, reporting the progress of the operation to liberate the city. ISIS added the Channel 2 News reporter to its most wanted list.
Channel 2 News reporter Efrat Lachter, who is covering the fighting around Mosul, Iraq between the coalition forces and ISIS, has been added to the terror organization's most wanted list.
Lachter has already departed from the region. In her last report from the outskirts of Mosul, she covered the progression of the operation to liberate the city and spoke to Kurdish Peshmerga fighters.
Lachter reported from the battlefields: "The Kurds are celebrating here the big victory they had in the battle to liberate the village Bashiqa and opening the roads to Mosul, which is now only 8 kilometers from the areas under Peshmerga control."
One of the Peshmerga fighters said: "We the Peshmerga are close to Mosul (…) we hope ISIS won't have the power to fight back."
The Iraqi Army is approaching the city from the north-east, opening the second front in order to conquer Mosul. On this front, the Iraqi Army conquered yesterday the city Bartella, which has over 100,000 citizens.
Over the last 3 days of combat, ISIS lost 280 terrorists and as revenge, the terrorist organization is performing mass-executions of women and children in Mosul. Hundreds have been murdered and their bodies have been thrown into the streets in order to incite fear. The remaining civilians are being used by ISIS as human shields.
