Itongadol.-Lonnie Bissonnette, an extreme athlete from Canada who hasn’t let his paralysis stop him from performing amazing feats, has uploaded to social media about a dozen videos of his jaw-dropping jumps off buildings.
Each post’s hashtag gives a virtual high-five to Israel’s SoftWheel, the company known for its revolutionary shock-absorbing wheel technology for wheelchairs and bicycles.
In 2004, Bissonnette suffered a spinal-cord injury while attempting his 1,100th BASE jump off a 486-foot-high (150-meter) bridge. (“BASE” is an acronym for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: building, antenna, span and earth, usually a cliff.)
While doctors told him he would never jump again, Bissonnette has gone on to prove otherwise. And he now jumps in a wheelchair fitted with SoftWheel technology.
“Lonnie Bissonnette is a great guy who does amazing things, some of them with (and because of) our wheels,” Daniel Barel, CEO SoftWheel tells ISRAEL21c.
SoftWheel does not sponsor Bissonnette’s extreme sports forays but it’s rather obvious from his numerous photos and videos on Facebook and his personal site that the world’s most prolific paraplegic BASE jumper champions Israeli technology.
